Here at Alter Ego Boudoir, we believe in the power of vulnerability, bravery, and self-love. We see women transform every day through our lens, but we know that not every woman feels safe or empowered in her own skin. Many are silently struggling behind closed doors, trapped in relationships filled with fear and pain.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to shed light on an issue that affects far too many—whether we realize it or not. You might not see the bruises or hear the cries, but domestic violence is happening everywhere, often hidden in silence.
This month, we are committed to raising awareness and advocating for change. The color purple represents this cause, so you’ll see us wearing it throughout the month as a symbol of support and solidarity. We wear purple for the women who have endured, survived, and continue to fight for their freedom. We wear it to remind those affected that they are seen, heard, and not alone.
Domestic violence doesn’t discriminate—it touches people of all backgrounds, ages, and walks of life. At Alter Ego Boudoir, we believe ALL women deserve to live a life they love. We know that some women need more help getting there, and that's okay. This month, we encourage everyone to learn how to support those in need, whether through donating to shelters, volunteering your time, or simply educating yourself on the signs of abuse and how to help a loved one escape it.
It’s time to break the silence. It’s time to stop the violence.
The women who walk through our doors come here to reclaim their confidence, to see themselves through a new lens. Some come from backgrounds of pain and are on a journey of healing. It is our mission to provide a safe space for all women to embrace their beauty and their worth. This month, we’re not just focusing on transformation through photoshoots; we’re focusing on transformation through awareness, education, and support.
To anyone who feels trapped in an abusive relationship, know that there is hope. There is help. You are worthy of love, respect, and a life free from fear. Bravery starts with vulnerability, and magic happens when we show up for ourselves—and for each other.
Let’s stand together this October and every day after. Together, we can bring an end to the silence and stop the violence.
If you or someone you know needs help, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233. Don’t wait.
At Alter Ego Boudoir, we believe in the beauty and power of every woman, and we are committed to creating a world where all women are free to live boldly, bravely, and safely.
Wear purple with us. Speak out. Be the change.
